The construction of affordable residential dwellings represents a significant portion of Denmark & White Ltd’s revenue and we have an extensive client base who are registered social landlords for whom we work for within framework agreements, partnerships or single/two stage selective tendering.

Junction Road, Burgess Hill

Moat Housing Association / Peak Developments

The design and construction of a 3800f2 ground floor shell for retail use by The Coop along with twenty four apartments and two houses for Moat Housing Association. Works were constructed to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes on a triangular site adjacent to a railway line and a live level crossing.


Hertford Infill Site, Hertford

Network Housing Group

The design and construction of twelve houses and bungalows for Network Housing Group. Works were constructed to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes across 5 different garage infill sites all within a few miles of each other. Close liaison with the neighbouring properties was critical to the success of the scheme.

Harding Court, Croydon

Riverside Housing Association

The design and construction of four houses for Riverside Housing Association. Works were constructed to level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes within the ground of an existing apartment block development. Extensive remediation was required to remove hazardous and contaminated materials arising from demolition and excavation.

Stafford Avenue, Hornchurch

H&F Investments Ltd

The construction of twenty three apartments in two blocks for H&F Investments Ltd. Block F was wholly for private sale with 2/3rds of Block C being passed to Estuary Housing Association for rent as part of the Clients section 106 agreement, resulting in sectional completions.


The Rifles, Enfield

Seedwell Ltd

The design and construction of seventeen houses and the refurbishment of “The Rifles” public house to provide 6 apartments for Seedwell Ltd; all for private sale. This award winning site has been constructed in two sections to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

Highmore Road, London

Private Client

The construction of a significant single dwelling for a Private client involving the demolition of the existing house. The site was situated opposite Greenwich Park in a conservation area and was designed to incorporate modern methods of construction and sustainable materials such as zinc roofs and Brise Soleil.

Community & Public Buildings

Working within the community helps Denmark & White Ltd reinforce its principles of being a considerate and responsible contractor. In many instances community and public construction projects involves working alongside neighbours and end users and we understand the need for all stakeholders to be integrated into the process from the outset to completion.

Elder House, Ilford

Swan Housing Group

The refurbishment and fit out of a ground floor shell of a flatted development to create a new community centre which incorporates a sports hall, office, meeting and community rooms along with the associated welfare facilities. With problematic access to overcome fronting Ilford High Street.

Christ the Eternal High Priest Church, Hornchurch

The Diocese of Brentwood

The refurbishment to an occupied and used religious building to create improvements to the administrative and entrance areas; along with the introduction of 16 roof lights to the main church hall area. Works were programed and completed Monday to Friday ensuring that all areas were progressed and safe to allow re occupation each weekend.

St Peters School, Hanningfield

The Governors of St Peters School

A traditional contract for the complete refurbishment and renewal of toilets and changing room areas within St Peters School. The refurbishment was completed whilst the School remained in use therefore stringent procedures were put in place to safeguard the welfare of the Children and Staff. Works also involved the installation of new automated security entrances doors and external fabric repairs and redecoration.

Health & Leisure

Whilst certain sectors of “general” construction can be repetitive, Denmark & White Ltd embrace the individual needs of our care provider Clients ensuring that each project is tailored and designed to the end users exacting needs and requirements. Our experience in designing, sourcing, procuring and eventually constructing specialised care facilities and equipment whilst maintaining standards has to be the number one consideration in this sector.

The Pines, Tunbridge Wells


The design and construction of a care facility housing 16 self-contained one bedroom apartments along with associated communal facilities and staff quarters. Works were constructed to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and incorporate many specialist elements to suit the end user’s needs. Extensive sensory and accessible landscaped areas were provided.

The design and construction of a care facility housing 7 self-contained one bedroom apartments along with associated communal facilities and staff quarters. Works were constructed to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and involved the careful demolition of existing buildings prior to commencing construction.

Linden Homes

The sympathetic refurbishment of existing staff accommodation to create new modern houses. Works involved extensive repairs and modifications to the external envelope which included window replacement to match to historic fenestration.

Commercial & Retail

Commercial and retail customers survive on their ability to trade and the respective revenue that early occupation of their premises will bring. Denmark & White Ltd always program their schemes responsibly from the outset to ensure that completion dates are not only met, but they are improved upon. Completion means completion and that must also include operable!

Hadleigh Bakery Properties

A traditional contract for the construction of a new Kentucky Fried Chicken and Domino’s Pizza restaurant which catered for drive through customers. Works involved the construction of a new access road and traffic management was paramount due to the sites proximity to the main road. The scheme was delivered in 34 weeks.

High Street, Wadhurst

Town & Country Housing Association / Geko Developments

The design and construction of a 3000f2 supermarket for use by Jempsons along with the refurbishment of an adjacent property to create a village cafeteria. The site was situated in Wadhurst an historic village and attracted a great deal of community interest as the end product changed the landscape dramatically.

The fit out and creation of a marketing suite and show flat on Affinity Suttons prestigious Lexington development on Finchley Road, London. This fast track project involved working in conjunction with Client’s interior designers to ensure that the potential purchasers could experience and few first-hand the level of finishes of the proposed apartments.
